Rent control could lead to landlords quitting

The Association of Residential Letting Agents says that three quarters of its agents are concerned that Labour party rent control proposals will result in a reduced supply. They are worried that many landlords will quit the market, and the areas most likely to be hardest hit are the northwest and east Midlands. A separate editorial in the Times suggests that rent controls could actually result in tenants paying more rent, not less.
